Handmade necklace created with a real Jewel Beetle with its wings spread, preserved and Electroformed in a thick plating of copper on a wide circular bail. On the center of the beetles back is a small Herkimer Diamond that allows a peek at the natural emerald green color of the beetle underneath. Green Onyx accent stones add a pop of color. Though the beetle is slightly crooked (it was dried and preserved that way with one wing higher than the other) the pendant hangs straight when worn. It’s double hung on antique copper chain with handmade hook and eye closure. Chain length is about 18”.
All insects used in my work are ethically sourced and cruelty free.
