Raw Fordite Silver Necklace
Handmade necklace crafted from Sterling silver with a unique piece of raw Fordite in a partial bezel and claw setting that is rustically simple yet unusual, just like the stone. A piece of US Auto History, Fordite is the name given to vintage car paint that had built up on the vehicle transport racks at the Ford plant during the 1950’s-1980’s. When the build up became too thick, it was removed from the racks and legend has it that some of the workers took some home and began carving it, revealing the hundreds of colorful layers. Each piece is one of a kind with colors varying by tue paint trends of the decade.
This Pendant comes on an 18” Black Rhodium plated sterling and sterling bead Saturn curb chain with lobster style clasp. Oxidized finish.
